HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series continues to take shape as production is scheduled to begin in 2025, with a release expected in late 2026 or early 2027. According to FeatureFirst, the Writers Guild of America West’s online directory lists three newly added writers for the series, working under the direction of showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod.
The newly announced writers are Laura Neal, Josephine Gardiner, and Andy Greenwald. Neal is known for her work on the BBC’s Killing Eve and Netflix’s Sex Education. Josephine Gardiner, though new to television, is the author of the well-reviewed novel Whistling Jack, a psychological mystery. Andy Greenwald will also be contributing to the writing team for the series, known for Legion and Briarpatch.
