In a significant update for fans of the Harry Potter franchise, it has been officially confirmed that Josephine Gardiner will join the writing team of the upcoming HBO adaptation of Harry Potter.
The announcement was made at the same time it was announced that Andy Greenwald and Laura Neal will be joining the team.
It’s not known whether Gardiner has written for television before, but she is the author of critically acclaimed novel Whistling Jack a psychological mystery set in Cornwall.
Cornwall, as all Harry Potter fans know, is the burial place of Dobby, the greatest house-elf to ever live. Cornish pixies are also known to be some of the peskiest in the country, if not the world.
The HBO Harry Potter series aims to explore the original seven-book saga in greater depth and is being produced by Warner Bros. Discovery. The project will feature a new cast for the iconic characters, led by a team that includes showrunners and executive producers dedicated to remaining faithful to J.K. Rowling’s beloved works.
As the series progresses, fans can look forward to more information about the casting and character details, along with a projected release date in early 2026.
